Metadata provides important information about audio files including the genre, artist name, date of creation and other details. On a Mac or Windows computer, you can reveal the metadata in a file using iTunes or Windows Media Player, respectively. Business owners can organize audio clips by viewing metadata and categorizing music based on the available information. Windows Media Player
1.Click the Windows orb and type 'Media Player' in the search box to locate and open the program.
2.Click the 'Tools' menu and then click 'Options' from the drop-down menu.
3.Check 'Retrieve Additional Information From the Internet' on the 'Library' tab if it isn't already checked. Select the radio button for 'Only Add Missing Information' to prevent information entered manually from being overwritten.
4.Locate your song in the Windows Media Player library. Right-click the album title and select 'Find Album Info.'
5.View the metadata information by looking under 'Existing Information,' on the left side of the media player. If the information is incorrect, select the correct album from the menu on the right, then click 'Next' and 'Finish.' Alternately, edit the metadata information manually by clicking the 'Edit' button under the Existing Information section. Enter the missing or incorrect information and click 'Done.'
iTunes for Macintosh
1.Launch iTunes by clicking 'Go' in the menu bar and selecting 'Applications.' Double-click on the 'iTunes' icon.
2.Select the WAV file you want to edit and right-click on the title of the audio.
3.Click 'Get Info' and select the 'Info' tab to view the metadata information.
